Papal Oval Frame with Tiara and Crossed Keys – Tassels and Blank Nameplate

An engraved oval frame topped with the papal tiara and the crossed keys of St. Peter, wrapped in heavy Baroque acanthus and scrollwork. Drawn by Hercule Catenacci, it has a wide shaded rim with studded detail, tasseled cords hanging from the keys, a small empty cartouche just under the crown and a blank nameplate at the base. The large open center leaves plenty of room for a portrait or a block of text. It makes a fitting border for a Catholic certificate such as a confirmation or ordination record, with the name set in the lower panel.
