Birmingham City Transport Ticket – Midcentury Punched Fare Numbers

A Midcentury Birmingham City Transport ticket, a 1½d ordinary fare on buff card with a single punched hole through the stage numbers. Rows of numbers from 1 to 9 and C run along the top and bottom edges, with the top row printed upside down. They frame the typeset line about bye-laws and a bold NOT TRANSFERABLE. Red figures mark the fare and stage 2, and a large serial number, 2M 10977, runs down the right side. It comes cut out on a transparent background, so it drops cleanly into a mixed media collage.
