Parking Ticket – Midcentury English Car Park Terms and Rubber Date Stamps

A small English parking ticket from 1968, double stamped with the date 04 MY 68 above a bold NOT TRANSFERABLE heading. Below it, dense blocks of heavy sans serif type spell out the Board’s conditions for parked motor vehicles, full of wonderfully officious phrases about bye-laws, negligence and whomsoever caused. The slightly blurred letterpress typography and smudgy rubber stamps give it genuine Midcentury paperwork character, and it comes cut out on a transparent background. Layer it into a mixed media collage when you want a scrap of everyday ephemera with real bureaucratic texture.
