This Edwardian invoice from William Field & Co, produce merchants of Hull, pairs an ornate letterhead with a handwritten grocery order. The header has a scrolling ribbon banner reading Bought Of, bold shaded lettering framed by floral sprigs, and neat typography for the address and payment terms. Below, faded purple ink lists raisins, currants, salmon, pineapple chunks, tapioca and lard across ruled accounting columns, finished with a red-inked total like a shop receipt. It’s cut out on a transparent background, so it drops cleanly into a mixed media collage.
