Railway Parking Ticket – Midcentury Burton-on-Trent Stub, Bold Numerals

A midcentury parking ticket from the British Railways Board for a motor car or three-wheeled vehicle at Burton-on-Trent. The serial number 7008 runs sideways in big numerals down both short ends, framing a block of mixed typography with a fee of 2/6 and the reminder that it’s available on day of issue only. A registration number is filled in by hand in blue ink on the dotted line, which gives the little card a real used feel. It comes cut out on a transparent background and drops neatly into junk journal spreads about English railways and motoring.
