Bus Ticket Advertisement – Saloon Buses and Private Cars For Hire Typography

A midcentury bus ticket advertising saloon buses and private cars for hire from Davies Bros. (Pencader) Ltd at Blossom Garage, Pencader. The display type mixes heavy bold capitals, a tall thin FOR HIRE headline and a condensed serif company name, all framed by two narrow vertical rules on dusty pink card. Small details like Phone No. 209, the line about reasonable charges and the serial number in the corner give it real ephemera charm. It comes cut out on a transparent background, so it drops straight into travel-themed junk journal pages.
