Railway Platform Ticket – Burton-on-Trent, Midcentury Red Diamond Stamp

A British Railways platform ticket for Burton-on-Trent, priced at one penny and stamped with a bold red diamond across the middle. The small card is packed with typography, from chunky display type in the station name to serif lines warning that it’s not valid in trains and must be given up when leaving the platform. Rows of numbers run along the top and bottom edges, and the serial number 7499 sits sideways at each end. Cut out on a transparent background, this piece of Midcentury English railway ephemera suits a travel journal or scrapbook layout.
