Transport Ticket – Midcentury Children’s Fare with Bold Letter C Overprint

This is a Birmingham City Transport children’s fare ticket for one and a half pence, printed by Bell Punch Co., Ltd. of London. A huge black letter C is stamped right across the middle, over small type, stage numbers 1 to 4 running down both edges, the serial K 3346 at the top and a single punched hole on the right. The sage green stock and blocky slab-serif typography give it that midcentury English bus and tram feel. It’s cut out on a transparent background, so it drops straight into junk journal spreads and travel-themed collage.
